Accommodations
The Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) offers a wide variety of accommodations to suit every style. Here are a few suggestions:
- Downtown Toronto: Closest to The Venue. Perfect for those who want to stay in the heart of the city, with easy access to dining, entertainment, and public transportation.
- North York & Etobicoke: Great for a quieter stay, with suburban charm and plenty of amenities.
- Hamilton & Surrounding Areas: A short drive from Toronto, offering scenic spots and a more relaxed atmosphere.
We encourage you to book your accommodations early to secure the best options for your needs.
If you have any questions or need assistance planning your trip, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Hotels
There are a variety of hotels nearbyThe Venue, however, downtown hotels can be quite pricy, but here are some that are more affordable in the downtown area:
- **Holiday Inn Express Downtown Toronto -** 111 Lombard St, Toronto, ON M5C 2T9 (1.1km away)
- This hotel is located in between Queen and King Street East, which are two main streets that have a plethora of restaurants, cafes, and shops to visit. It is also located just north of the St. James Park which is a beautiful park filled with gardens of flowers and trees right next to the Cathedral Church of St. James which is a wonderful view (many tourists take photos of it!).
- Note that Sherbourne Street is a bit sketchy and can potentially be unsafe, especially at night, so it’s advised to stay away from it if possible. Anywhere more west of this area is where you’ll find the main tourist attractions like the Eaton Center and Nathan Phillips Square.
- **Hotel Victoria -** 56 Yonge St, Toronto, ON M5E 1G5 (1.5km away)
- Yonge Street is the main street that connects to all of the main east-west streets, and is the main line for the subway system. This hotel is located 550m (8 min walk) from Toronto’s Eaton Center (one of the largest malls in Toronto), as well as 800m (11 min walk) from Nathan Phillips Square (where the big Toronto sign is) and its public skating rink.
- If you go south and then east onto Wellington Street East, you can see the flatiron building! North from there on Church Street is the Cathedral Church of St. James which is a gorgeous view and next to it is its beautiful park filled with flowers and trees.
- **Novotel Toronto Centre -** 45 The Esplanade, Toronto, ON M5E 1W2 (1.6km away)
- Just north of the Gardiner Expressway (main highway), and just south of the Flatiron Building located on Church and Front Street. The St. Lawrence Market, located on The Esplanade and Market Street is just slightly northeast of this hotel.
- The Esplanade has an array of restaurants and bars nearby, just north on Front Street East is one of my favourite plant-based restaurants — Fresh Kitchen + Juice Bar. This area has many restaurants and shops nearby. If you’re into hockey, there’s the Hockey Hall of Fame on Yonge and Wellington Street!
- **Cambridge Suites Toronto -** 15 Richmond St E, Toronto, ON M5C 1N2 (1.9km away)
- Queen Street is located in the heart of downtown Toronto, and is full of local shops, restaurants, and is one of the streets with an entrance to the Eaton Centre (one of the largest malls in Toronto). This hotel is located just slightly south of Yonge and Queen Street, in walking distance of the Eaton’s Center and Nathan Phillips Square (where the huge Toronto sign is located accompanied by an ice rink).
- It is also just around the corner from the Queen subway station if you’d like to get around with our public subway transportation system. Note that there are also streetcars that run on this line, however, they are usually very slow and take more time to arrive at your stop than the subway line.
- **Chelsea Hotel Toronto -** 33 Gerrard St W, Toronto, ON M5G 1Z4 (2.1km away)
- Located a little more north of the heart of Toronto, this hotel is right nearby to Toronto Metropolitan University (previously Ryerson University). Just north on College Street there are many shops and restaurants — one of my personal favourite breakfast spots, Eggspectation. Right across the street there is the downtown IKEA location, located in a shopping mall with a bubble tea spot — called The Alley.
- If you walk a few minutes south towards Dundas Street West, you can see Toronto’s own version of Time’s Square — Dundas Square! Here you’ll find the Eaton Center, Cineplex Theatre, and so many restaurants to choose from that your
